While catching up on my amusement allocation the other night I came across an extremely interesting article from the Ladies Home Journal. To appreciate this post, it is essential that you click on the link and read the result.
I suppose it is natural to dream about the future. This trait is not the exclusive property of the denizens of the twenty first century. This issue of the Journal which provided the text was printed in 1899. In anticipation of the turn of the century they projected their concept of what the future held in several areas of interest.
Since they were not clairvoyant, it seemed unlikely they would come up with predictions of future technology as accurate as the article indicates. My personal opinion is that they did a remarkable job of foreseeing upcoming events and inventions. Thinking of the progress which we have made in the last ten years their anticipation of today’s reality are all the more remarkable.
Go ahead and click the link above and see what William McKinley’s constituents had on their mind as they tried to anticipate the future.
In His abiding love,
