Monday Morning Rant 151

After .3 inches of rain on Friday, it would be hard to pick a fight with me about much of anything. It is a joy to watch God’s natural world respond to my perceived needs. When your water is supplied by your own individual well, you become much more aware of mysterious things like “water tables” and “submersible pumps.” During an extremely dry summer, you watch every cloud in hopeful anticipation. In six and half years, we have never run out of water but the thought is always there. The pump is over 80’ down the well shaft, nearly new, below the water level of the nearby Spring River, and draws from a total depth of nearly 200’. We also keep about 30 gallons of water in reserve for any emergency in a hodge-podge of containers—just in case.

The problem is exacerbated by the presence of juvenile tomato plants and our precious and precocious grapes busily climbing the deck which require daily water. This is in combination with a huge collection of flowers which also require daily irrigation. We were thrilled by the rain not just for us but also for the local farmers whose corn now exhibits leaf structure which resembles up thrust swords which funnels what little water may providentially fall from the sky with out loss. Now that we have had some relief, we may relax for another day or two and then renew our prayers of supplication.

A Declaration of Independence

"Day by Day" is the lead blog on my favorites list. Every morning, it sets the tone for the day as cartoon characters take on current events. After years of exposure, they have become personified by Scott Ott, the artist and proprietor of the website and have become as real to me as my entire body of friends.

The Sunday Post on June 27, 2010, is exemplary of his genius. First, go to the website and get the general taste of the offering. I have then taken the liberty of putting the main thrust into what I consider a more readable font—read it.

"…The history of the present King’ of America, Barack Obama, is a history of repeated injuries and usurpations, all having in direct object the establishment of an absolute Tyranny over these States. To prove this, let Facts be submitted to a candid world.


He has refused his Assent to established Laws, notably Immigration, Voting, and Contract Laws, the more wholesome and necessary for the public good.


He has forbidden his Governors to pass Laws of immediate and pressing importance, as with Arizona Immigration Law, unless suspended in the their operation till his Assent should be obtained; and when so suspended, he has utterly neglected to attend to them.


He has refused to pass other Laws for the accommodation of large districts of people, or of hearing them, unless those people relinquish the right of Representation in the Legislature, a right inestimable to those in the Tea Parties, and formidable to tyrants only.


He has called together legislative bodies behind closed doors, denying access, and at places unusual, uncomfortable and distant from the venue of the People, for the sole purpose of fatiguing them into compliance with his measures.


He has ignored and harassed Representative Houses repeatedly, for opposing with manly firmness his invasion on the rights of the people.


He has refused for a long time, after such dissolution, to heed fellow Americans who have been elected, whereby the Legislative Powers, incapable of Annihilation, have returned to the People at large for their exercise, the State remaining in the mean time exposed to all the dangers of invasion without, and convulsions within.


He has heartily endeavoured to raise the population of these States; solely for Partisan Party Gain only; and for that purpose obstructing the Laws of the Land pursuant to Immigration Law and Citizenship; refusing to pass others not inclined of his Views their migrations hither, and lowering the condition of said Citizenship.


He has obstructed the Administration of Justice by refusing his Assent to Laws of established Precedent, whether Contract Laws or Voting rights, via his minions, Eric Holder, et al.


He and Like Progressives have made Judges dependent on their Will alone for the tenure of their offices, and the amount and payment of their salaries.


He has erected a multitude of New UnAccountable Czars, diluted the Authority of the People, and sent hither swarms of IRS Officers to harass our people and eat of their substance.


He plans to keep among Us, in times of peace, supported by Our own Industry, dissolute Obama Youth gangs, without the Consent of our Legislatures.


He has affected to render his Office, the Presidency, independent and superior to that of the People.


He has combined with Democrats, RINOS, Progressives, Communists, Dictators and Tyrants to subject Us to a jurisdiction foreign to our Constitution, and unacknowledged by our laws; giving his Assent to their Acts of pretended Legislation, to wit the “Stimulus Bill.” ”Healthcare,” Cap and Trade, and sundry Bills of Attainder Offensive to Citizens of the Nation.


For proposing Succor and Pay to a corrupted “Fourth Estate” that is inimical to Our Freedoms and federal subsidies of our own labor.


For protecting said “Fourth Estate” through payment of Favor and condemnation of Their Enemies, Fox News, Talk radio, Blogs, all of whereof Free Men speak, for any Libel should commit on Same.


For cutting off our Allies in all parts of the world:


For imposing Ruinous Taxes on us without our Consent; and for the Representation of Foreigners without taxation:


For depriving us in many cases, of the benefit of Trial by Jury, rather through their minions of their Press, and various Anonymous’ Sources:


For transporting us beyond the Pleasures of Logic and Reason; to try for pretended offences against this State:


For abolishing the free System of American Laws, establishing theirin an Arbitrary Progressive ‘government’, and enlarging its Boundaries, and redefinition of Language and Certitude, so as to render it once as an example and fit instrument for introducing the same absolute progressive/communist Rule into these States.


For taking away our Charter, abolishing our most valuable Laws and altering fundamentally and ‘Change’ the Forms of our Government.


For suspending our own Legislatures, whether Arizona, Texas, or the bosom of Local government and declaring Himself invested with power to legislate for us in all cases whatsoever.


He has abdicated Government here, by declaring us out of his ‘Beneficent Change’, and waging War against us.


He has plundered our Gulf, ravaged our coasts through his incompetence, burnt out our Currency, and destroyed the lives of our people.


He is at this time proposing to transport large Armies of foreign Illegal Immigrants to compleat the works of death , desolation and tyranny of One-Party Rule, already begun with the circumstances of the perversion of our Laws of Citizenship, scarcely paralleled in the most barbarous ages, and totally unworthy of an American president.


He has constrained our fellow Citizens to inform on their Countrymen on his website, against their Country, to become the executioners of their friends and brethren, or to fall themselves by His hand.


He has excited domestic insurrections amongst us, by race, by gender, social class and any and all machinations thereof, and has endeavoured to bring on the inhabitants of our frontiers, the merciless Drug Lords and Islamic terrorists whose known rule of warfare, is an undistinguished destruction of all ages, sexes and conditions.


In every stage of these Oppressions We have Petitioned for Redress in the most humble terms: Our repeated Petitions have been answered only by repeated injury. Whether through his State of his Press, A President, whose character is this marked by every act which may define a Tyrant, is unfit to be the President of a free people.


Nor have We been wanting in attentions to our Progressive brethren. We have warned them from time to time of attempts by their congress to extend an unwarrantable jurisdiction over us. We have appealed to their claims of justice and magnanimity, and we have conjured them by the ties of common kindred to disavow these usurpations, which would inevitably interrupt our connections and correspondence. They too have been deaf, arrogant, contemptuous and dismissive to the voice of justice and of consanguinity. We must, therefore, acquiesce in the necessity, which denounces our Separation, and hold them, as we hold the rest of mankind, Enemies in War, in Peace Friends.

We, therefore, the Representatives of the United States of America, in General Congress, Assembled, appealing to the Supreme Judge of the world for the rectitude of our intentions, do in the Name and by Authority of the good People of these States, solemnly publish and declare That the united States are absolved from all Allegiance to a tyrant President and that all political connection between them and those of foreign Progressive Coda, is and ought to be totally dissolved; and that as Free and Independent States, they have full Power to levy War, conclude Peace, contract Alliances, establish Commerce, and to do all other Acts and Things which Independent States may of right do. – And for the support of this Declaration, with a firm reliance on the protection of Divine Providence, we mutually pledge to each other our Lives, our Fortunes, and our sacred Honor.”

(Just click on the archives for last week in the left hand column—you’ll find it easily.”) It may well be time to check the contents of the “liberal” water cooler. There may be something present which provokes a congressional representative to wonder about a Pacific Island overturning, a president of 57 states and a geography drop-out. Apparently, there was, indeed, a child or two “left behind.” Keep in mind that these people all hold elected positions and are the responsibility of those who pulled the lever for them—the voters. God help us!
