Purpose

Many of you feel that Cec and I are preaching to the choir. I suppose we are, and I must admit the positive feedback is heartening. Then there are the trolls who believe that every blog in the universe was created exclusively for their entertainment. Trolls will always be among us. That's fine. If they have no life I guess blogging is better that holding up C stores.

However, there are two other groups out there, and there may be only one or two in each group whom I wish to reach at some level. The first group contains those who are walking the narrow line between truth and fiction, who may have been sucked into the feelgood, do-gooder atmosphere of the greater number. "Let's all stick together and get this church going again." It all looks just and holy and worthy. Consider the tactics. As I said in an earlier post, watch your backs. Please continue reading this blog. Comments are optional; diligence is mandatory.

Lastly, you who lurk in the shadows, feeling vastly superior to all of us, but who may visit Zion Beckons to see what the great unwashed are up to. It gives me great pleasure to be the burr under your saddle. Please know that there are those of us out here who are onto you.

I have a tendency to come off either nasty or melodramatic. It's been pointed out to me more than once. Oh well. I'm not looking for the Miss Congeniality Award, although I'm really a very nice person. But don't mess with my church. Don't change the doctrine, don't remove the Epitome of Faith, don't sneak around and meet with those who fell into apostasy decades ago. Don't pretend your are speaking for all the Saints when you have your little closed-door sessions. Our little rag tag group—to borrow the delightful expression from my friend Steve—will prevail because our Lord will prevail. God hasn't changed. Neither should His church.

We're not looking for large numbers. We're hoping to reach a few and this seems the best way to do it. Cec is back from the Odessa reunion and has a lot to say. He'll be posting later.

One final note to you trolls and lurkers: please don't use specific names when firing your darts. Your comments will be rejected. We're more lenient than many, but naming names is not appropriate. You may direct your comments to someone if you feel the need, but please don't talk about someone. Thank you.

God bless all of you. Please pray for each other.

Since I have posted comments I don't know if I am considered a "troll", a "lurker", "one with no life", "walking the narrow line", a "feelgood" or a welcome guest.
I did name some names but only to point out what I thought they were doing.
I don't know any of the people I named and I did not judge any of them....only their fruit.
It is interesting however, that in return I have been tried and convicted.
It seems to illustrate the difference (though no one seems to get the distinction) between having a discussion to share ideas and thoughts and responding in condemnation and judgment to what someone has taken the time and effort to honestly share.
To make matters worse, such judgment and condemnation is done under the guise of "love", "truth" and the blanket of scripture.

Yes, I agree, it is all about purpose. And one's true motivation and purpose will be a large influence on the fruit....just think of a hydrangea.

It would be wonderful, Seeker, to see from the collective Restoration groups....from rag tag to CoC....a moment to pause, reflect on the purpose, realign individual agendae to the true purpose, and then move forward with lives driven by that purpose.

I think in your scriptures that is called the "cause of Zion" is it not?

btw, in regard to your admonition, it is possible (even quite likely and common) to "talk about" someone without ever mentioning a name. It is usually more honest and, in the long run more beneficial, to "talk about" someone onymously.

please let me know my status

Seeker,
What a breath of fresh air! You and Cec are blessed to be able to speak truth without having to think, will this be deleted or censored. And I can read your writings knowing you are being honest through and through, the only restraint that of your loving Heavenly Father to please.
Here is something to good food to fest upon to give nourishment to the hungering soul and mind with all the New Age religions popping up and even old standard religions getting on board the concept that there are no set standards. Morals and right are what you think them to be inside your own self-spirit. Ignore God’s Holy Spirit that is no longer good enough is the mantra. Reconcile with one another until right is watered down to wrong, good to evil. The Holy Scriptures are being fulfilled right before ours eyes. Those drunk with their own desires will miss all that is important until it may be too late for them.

7:46 And now I, Nephi, declare unto you, that this prophet of whom Moses spake, was the Holy One of Israel;
7:47 Wherefore, he shall execute judgment in righteousness;
7:48 And the righteous need not fear, for they are those who shall not be confounded.
7:49 But it is the kingdom of the devil which shall be built up among the children of men, which kingdom is established among them which are in the flesh:
7:50 For the time speedily shall come, that all churches which are built up to get gain, and all those who are built up to get power over the flesh, and those who are built up to become popular in the eyes of the world, and those who seek the lusts of the flesh and the things of the world, and to do all manner of iniquity;
7:51 Yea, in fine, all those who belong to the kingdom of the devil, are they who need fear, and tremble, and quake;
7:52 They are those who must be brought low in the dust;
7:53 They are those who must be consumed as stubble:
7:54 And this is according to the words of the prophet.
7:55 And the time cometh speedily, that the righteous must be led up as calves of the stall, and the Holy One of Israel must reign in dominion, and might, and power, and great glory.
7:56 And he gathereth his children from the four quarters of the earth;
7:57 And he numbereth his sheep, and they know him;
7:58 And there shall be one fold and one shepherd:
7:59 And he shall feed his sheep, and in him they shall find pasture.
7:60 And because of the righteousness of his people, Satan has no power;
7:61 Wherefore, he can not be loosed for the space of many years;
7:62 For he hath no power over the hearts of the people, for they dwell in righteousness, and the Holy One of Israel reigneth.
7:63 And now behold, I, Nephi, say unto you, that all these things must come according to the flesh.
7:64 But, behold, all nations, kindreds, tongues, and people, shall dwell safely in the Holy One of Israel, if it so be that they will repent.
