During the 90’s—no, not the “gay” nineties—I was heavily invested in operating a motor coach and planning, driving and leading tours all over the United States and Canada. One of my favorite groups was an annual visit by a delegation of mostly older Germans. For years I exposed them to the wonders of America, both natural and cultural for three or four weeks and they also further educated me on theirs as well. With my two solid years living in Germany and a cursory acquaintance with the language, we easily became close friends.
Their leader, Joseph Peters, and I shared much about our backgrounds and histories as friends are wont to do. As a lad, under the Nazi regime, he had been part of the Hitler Youth program, moved through a physical development activity and later was assigned to duty in the military at the close of the war. He shared much about the techniques to which he had been subjected under the Nazis and also the details of what occurred during the subsequent occupation when he learned that what he had been taught were outright lies. It was obviously painful for him.
A pillar of despotic planning has long been the education of children to accept the falsities of evil programs. By shaping their little minds and lives there is a constant available pool emerging to buoy their numbers and propagate their message. This was certainly not unique to the National Socialists of 1930’s Germany. To a greater or lesser extent it has been practiced by every despotic regime in history. Most recently we saw thousands of youngsters on our TV screens during the ceremonies from China during the Olympics. Not only do the leaders get to bolster their message but the kids put out a benign face on their presentation. It is an insidious use of resources; but, it is extremely effective.
As a result, I was completely blown away by this offering which I came across today. It brought back a flood of memories of conversations with my friend. Carefully watch the video and appreciate with me the extremely talented and well coached youth group. Take special note of the doting parents and friends in attendance. Note also the blatant politicization of the entire affair.
With a tip of the hat to Cadet Happy on IMAO for pointing this out, I am grateful to be reminded of the origins of this type of propaganda. He suggests; “Its not hard to imagine being dragged off in the dead of night to a reeducation camp with this playing in the background”. . .
Insidious isn’t it? As promised here is one more “NOT EXACTLY.”
“My grandmother has always been a Christian"—NOT EXACTLY, she does her daily Salat prayers at 5am according to her own interviews. Not to mention, Christianity wouldn’t allow her to have been one of 14 wives to 1 man.
My, oh, my, “what a tangled web we weave…….”
More “Not Exactlys” tomorrow so have a nice day if the video didn’t scare you as bad as it did me.
In His abiding love,
Cecil Moon
